Donation and Distribution Center for People in Need

It needs not so much to help a pregnant woman who doesn’t have a baby carriage for an infant or elderly people who don’t leave their apartments because of lacking winter footwear and warm clothing. These things would be helpful for them. The Russian Orthodox Church is ready to open donation things distribution centers for the needy.

Mechanisms of donation centers operation:

• Central storage opening, including several donation centers in Moscow Churches;
• Things reception from the public and legal persons in all the centers;
• Things collection and transportation from the unit to the central storage, where assortment and preparation for things distribution to the needy will take place. Things distribution to the needy in the central storage:

1. Elderly people
2. Refugees
3. Pregnant women
4. The homeless
5. Lonely mothers
6. Families from the country
7. Families lost a breadwinner
8. People got into emergency cases, etc. 

 

At the moment Synodal Department for Charity of the Russian Orthodox Church possesses the room of 210 square meters size (requires repair) intended for the central storage. Clothes donation centers will also be opened at churches and monasteries. The project launching requires 20 000 dollars of investment. Besides, monthly costs will present 7 000 dollars.
